Candles

Whether they are embellished with wood, silver or henna, Moroccan candles reflect a beautiful mix of traditional inspiration and create magical atmospheres. Depending on their color, they wrap gardens into warm colours. This is in Fez and Salé that you will find most beautiful traditional candles, which you can admire most particularly during the Annual Parade of Waxes in Salé or during the celebration of Moulay Idriss in Fez. This event is a tribute from the entire city to its patron saint and is the occasion for the craftsmen population (weavers, merchants, tanners, coppersmiths, blacksmiths, shoemakers) to make offerings. Huge colorful, decorated candles are then mobilized to illuminate the sanctuary, while a long and sensational parade is conducted in the city, from morning to sunset.
